Join us for the next Irish Construction Declare meeting TOMORROW 5th October 5:30-6:30 PM.

This time we will be discussing how to create sustainable and resilient communities through collaborative approaches and renovation with:

Caelan Bristow - architect and artist with a practice incorporating principles of eco-architecture into a variety of residential and public commissions. She works as part of the Steering Group of Irish Architects Declare and the RIAI Sustainability Task Force.

Davie Philip
- who has been at the forefront of promoting sustainable communities in Ireland since 1996. He was a founding member of FEASTA: the Foundation for the Economics of Sustainability and a co-founder of Sustainable Projects Ireland Ltd. the company behind the ecovillage project in Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary. Davie currently works as part of the Community Resilience Programme at Cultivate Living and Learning.

About this Event

Join us for the next Irish Construction Declares meeting to discuss the why, what and how of embodied carbon. The meeting will consist of:

  1. A short introduction to embodied carbon and how to reduce it
  2. An overview of the tools available to calculate it
  3. A presentation by Paul Cleary on how IPUT as a leading developer is calculating and reducing the embodied carbon of their projects

The presentations will be followed by a discussion on the topic.

Everyone with an interest in a sustainable built environment are welcome to this meeting and we look forward to seeing you there!

On the 2nd of March it is time for our next meeting! This time we are bringing the new members of Construction Declares and will talk about:

1) How to lobby for greater engagement and support from our professional institutions
2) Promoting an Embodied Carbon/Whole Life Carbon Regulation
3) Launching Construction Declare and doubling our signatory numbers

We will also provide an overview of the many resources available to assist practices in starting their journey in regards to the declaration points.

For this meeting we encourage everyone to bring a friend! It can be any professional or student from the built environment. We are hoping to make this meeting a kick-off for Construction Declare, grow our numbers, and impact, to achieve a sustainable built environment.
